Crisis Intervention
Intervention team for crisis situation and defense of rights...
We launched in February 1993, a Defense of Rights project in our community. This project was implemented due to a financial contribution from Health and Welfare Canada, Senior Independence Program.
We have crisis advocates who intervene in defense of rights and in crisis situations like helping to solve problems such as; pensions, medication, community resources, finance, budget, health and welfare.
For example: We helped a senior citizen, suffering from an illness, to collect an additional supplement from the government, and to obtain homecare as well as meals on wheels.
We also support other community groups that work in the defense of rights of a particular clientele.
For example: We joined a coalition set-up to obtain free medication for people with low-income revenue and senior citizens when the Quebec Government introduced the medication insurance.
